Re: The Facts about Utah Lion Management!!

Jordan,

I think you're on to something. I've seen this problem coming from a long way off. In my opinion, the only way to fix the extinction of lions in Utah, is to group together as houndsmen and make something happen. Problems I see: (1) houndsmen are way out numbered compared to big-game hunters ...

Re: Few Good Bears

Hey Ken,

With the amount of information they drill into my head daily it won't be very long before I will be able to help do some stuff. If I make it out of this mess I'll have to do all my pro bono work for houndsmen. Lol I'll just put a little post on here and represent the grey world of hound ...

Re: how succesful can a one or two dog pack be for bear?

Chopperdog,

Those old timers were right. I have caught a lot of bears with one or two dogs, even big bears. It is hard to catch bears with a small pack of dogs because there are so many factors in putting a bear in a tree (fighting, running, walking.) I have seen several dogs put bears in trees or ...

Re: Few Good Bears

Kev,

Those were some fun bears, escpecially the one day when half the dogs treed the big black bear and the other half chased a house cat through the back door of a guys cabin then through the inside of the cabin and then out the front door where the guy caught and saved his cat. (Real similar to ...

Re: Few Good Bears

Hey Kev,

Man those look like some big ol bears. . . Not very many houndmen can put those kind of bears in trees! Especially three of them in one week. . . Those must be some damn nice dogs

Mort,

We have been having some good luck with cats this fall. My heart breaks everyday when I see Tank. The vet that killed that bear did a complete operation and he thinks it looks good, but I don't think so. He is atleast walking now, I guess he will still be able to rig and get those tracks ...

**Giant Lion**

Hey guys, here is a couple pics of a lion we harvested last week, while out tuning dogs up for the up-coming season. This tom ran for several miles in some rugged country before our dogs could finally put the hurt on him. We are hunting our hounds daily and are showing them some serious game. If you ...

Hounddawg, I don't want to play your game of who can wright meaner things. Grow up! As for the jealous part that made me laugh. I've caught close to fourty bear this year with three weighing over 450-500 lbs. These bears had 21 and 20 inch skulls. So i'm not that jealous of any bear hunter. Look up ...

Give it up

HoundDawg, Why is it everytime I look at this site you are telling everyone how good your dogs are or how good your buddy is doing down hunting on the most populated bear unit is our state? It gets old. . . If you kill a big animal then yes a lot of us would like to see it, but quit stabbing at ...

Gabe,

We started this bear with six dogs. The track was old and it was kinda wishful thinking. Two of those six trailed it through all day and jumped it in the evening. I found were the bear and dogs crossed another road a long ways from where we turned out and was able to get a pile load of ...
