Bighorn county has some great coon hunting on public and private. The Yellowtail area is really good for coon. You can hunt coon with artificial light as long as it is handheld or headlamp and you have dogs on the ground on all public.

The black hills dosen't have any more cats than alot of areas in the state, just better access. Cats get killed off to fast there to see any big ones come out of there ( but there are good toms there). I have seen only a handful of 15+ inch toms in this state that that quality of tom would produce ...

Hey Mel, I think the guy you are looking for is Joe Kimmal ( I am not sure on the spelling of the last name). He was an old timer in the Riverton area that raised plotts. I ran a border collie/ blue heeler cross for alot of years in my pack and he did great. Had th extra speed on hot tracks and held a tree as well as any hound I haave ever owned.

I think Dean and those guys still keep wyoming hunting dog alive still, but Donna dosen't have anything to do with it anymore. Wheatland is a great area to get out. If you can get into some private ground you should get some great coon hunting. Lion hunting to the west should be enough to keep you busy as well.
