Re: *GRAPHIC* DAMN WOLVES! (Not my dogs)

These were my dogs and this is what happened to me on September 19th, 2011. It happened ten miles northeast of Headquarters, Idaho on Deadhorse Mountain. So, if you are hunting the Clearwater country in north central Idaho, please be careful... the wolves will kill your dogs.

Thank you Marshall ...

Re: bluetick/plott speed

Perhaps those of you following this fine example of houndsmen comraderie, can see why Oregon, Washington, California and other States have lost, and will continue to lose some of the hound hunting seasons and species. Who cares if someone wants to post pictures of his success? Who cares what color ...

Re: yellowjacket bloodline

I have never heard the moniker "yellowjacket" applied to this bloodlines but I am very familiar with both Blaster and Cricket and their bloodlines. I believe there is a member on this board who goes by the username - "yellowjacket" -, maybe he is associated somehow.

As for Reillys YJ Cricket, I ...

The Garmin... it really doesn't need to be explained, lol. It's just a superior method of tracking a dog all the way around.

Re: bluetick/plott speed

I do have one dog from new mexico that I know for a fact has caught a shiz load of bear and is highly sought after by those that have seen him hunt. he very rarely rigs down here and hasn't caught a bear in over 50 runs.

I'm assuming it's the climate or the terrain you're claiming is the ...

Re: Anyone ever ran dogs in Idaho's Selway Zone???

You guys said it, wolves and more wolves. But we can say that about all of north Idaho now. Turning hounds loose in Idaho is truelly a gamble any more...

Between the wolves and the whole, no roads thing, it will make hunting the Selway zone an adventure for sure.

Re: Idaho Houndsmen need your help

I don't know about the northern part of the state but in the southeast units our cats are hurting badly.

Northern Idaho is pretty bad too. Here in the Clearwater there are no quotas at all, which, among other things, has led to a very low cougar population. Having seen how many cougar we had even ...

Re: Wolves Kill Another Hound In Idaho

That's a bad deal Greg, it wasn't one of Bob's younger pups was it? I figure they'd be too young yet? Anyways, it always makes a guy give a prayer every time he unsnaps the dogs. It's just matter of time for us all...
