Re: Thoughts of a Hound Thief....
Majority of vets scan for chips now days as well as animal control. If you reported your dog lost or stolen it will show up in the system as soon as they scan it. It offers me atleast some piece of comfort. I had a lady up the road take my dogs right out of my yard last fall. Neighbor guy saw her bu...

Anybody use an S.U.V. hunting set up?
I recently got rid of my excessively gas guzzling 95 dodge ram and acquired a 95 Jeep grand cherokee straight six, lifted three inches. I need to come up with a creative way to haul the dogs for hunting. I've seen guys put dog boxes on a hitch rack and that's fine for them, but I personally feel it ...

Had a Lab born with an umbilical Hernia, he lived to age seven without having it operated it went away as he grew. Never seemed to bother him a bit and boy could that dog run! However, I am NOT a vet. I do NOT know for sure that this is what your hounds have, nor do I know that it might not cause is...

Re: How does everyone get around in the woods?
Depends on the type of hunting. Coyote Hunting, we try to keep a truck to each side of the section we are hunting, or atleast the sides more apt for the coyote to bring our dogs across. Only walking we do is walking in on a track to jump the coyote. Coon hunting, I just walk. Love listening to the h...

Re: whipworm vacc.?
Panacur works great to get rid of whips, unfortunately, it doesn't PREVENT whips though. Anyone who has read up on whips will find that the eggs can last in the yard or kennel up to five years. I am currently trying to find a preventative as well. Good luck and let me know what you find!

Re: Dew claws
I reckon it comes down to personal preferance. My older female Bloodhound has her dew claws. She is 4 and (knock on wood) she is yet to have torn or ripped them in any way. I HAVE noticed they help her quite a bit when it comes to gripping the tree when she trees. My younger Female, also a bloodhoun...

Also, is there a preventative for whips? Their eggs can last quite awhile in the yard. So I want to give them an preventative.
