Re: Bucking rolls
They are nice but if rely on them too much and you have one that really gets with it then you blow a screw you might end up with a new turkey track across your saddle. It could happen without them but I ride a bronc alot better if I sit up and ride it rather then rely on bucking rolls.

Re: Rough out or Smooth out saddle seat?
Any time a guy orders a new rig it’s a tough decision because there are so many choices. I personally prefer a smooth seat but that’s my preference. I have spent a lot of time working on buckaroo outfits trotting long circles as well as running cattle and hunting a horseback in most the western moun...

Re: Vaquero Traditions
Since we are on the vaquero way’s what styles of rope do you boys and girls like to use? I love to rope with a reata if it’s been built right. For every day roping, doctoring, and big fancy loops I like a 9.5mm 3 strand poly gold that is waxed 60ft( I rope with a new one a few times and run some rop...

Re: Braiders and braided gear-
Brady, I used to work for Doug Groves at the TS in Battle Mountain NV. He is one of the old time braiders. He is a wealth of information and would help anybody with there braiding. I haven’t braided much in a while but like you I need to start getting serious about it again. I still build a lot of c...

Re: Let's see your customized saddles
Here are a couple rigs I ride. Gary Mittleider of Meridian Idaho. Built the saddle without the taps.It is a Center Fire rig with a 15 ½ inch seat and a 4” post horn. The saddle with the taps was built by Bill Boswell of Goshen Utah. It has a Keith Gertsch tree double rigged 16 inch seat with 26” Tap...

The Ouchy Robot
I’m sure this subject has been discussed numerous times but can’t find the info in a search. I have a 45 lb female that has junk for feet. She is my #1 cat dog and she just won’t quit BUT after a good race in the dirt or snow (snow being the worst) she will be doing the ouchy robot for about 5 or 6 ...

Re: Bleaching Question?
I am sure there are some taxidermists on here that can tell you the best way to bleach it but this is what works for me. I clean the skull the best I can then let it dry. I then take a wire wheel drill bit and clean any bits that are still attached (start from the back of the skull with the brush to...
