Re: One dog?
I have seen some of the dogs with the least amount of grit tree bear by themselves and a large pack of gritty bear dogs have a harder time getting one to climb. I don't know if the rough pack puts too much pressure for the bear to find a tree or if it is just a coincidence that the solo dog got on ...

Re: Exercising hounds with a giant hampster wheel?
I wondered how they would keep the dog tethered in there and now I see that they don't. I have some hard headed hounds that would not want to jump on and off that thing. I wondered if it was powered or just made to move by the dog.

Re: Using a bully breed for other game
The small amount of experience we had with bulldogs was not a good one. When I was a kid we had four that were half pit half Plott. They had less speed, nose, and stamina than a Plott and 10 times the dog aggression. When packed on a red hot bear they would make it climb, but none of them lived to ...

Re: Kennel or Chain?
I use chains. a 10ft chain is 3X more space than a 10ft kennel. They are also less work with cleaning them out, and you can interact with the dogs with less effort. Less impact on hyperactive dogs joints versus concrete. Kennels are fine, but I prefer chains.

Looks like we have now pulled ahead in the poll. I bet they did not expect that on their Liberal website.

Re: Poll on banning bear hunting in the US
We are not far behind now. 58% to 42% I think it would be nice for the poll to go against everything their liberal website stands for.

Re: gene hicks bred dogs
I have some black dogs that go back to Gene. I really like them on bear. Excellent strike and tree dogs with good grit and speed. you can see a few of them at this address.

Re: Most Bears In A Row???
18 in a row is the best that we have managed.
There are so many things that can go wrong on a chase here, or anywhere else, that it is difficult to go very long without some sort of interference or an off day.
