Ok i have had it who hi jacked my post, i wanted to find some running dogs that tree, not listen to a bunch of grumpy old cat hunters at who has the best cat dogs.

I would love to be proven wrong on these purebred tree hounds, but i have not seen one in years that had all the tools to be a bobcat dog on brushy oregon coast.

Anyone breeding any running dog crosses that are still natural tree dogs, these pure bred hounds dont have enough track and go to them to make cat dogs anymore.

I have yet to hear of anyone breeding a strong line of walker hounds, yes there are a select few nice hounds out there, but who is breeding a high number of good honest cold trailing smart tree dogs?????

Just wondering what everyone else's thoughts were on what happened to the breeding of walkers over the past 30 years. When I got into hound hunting I purchased a couple finley river pups and caught a pile of game with them, and a couple years later three house bred dogs. None of them were culls ...

I've hunted around several most are not what I'd call natural tree dogs, they do run a track good but can drift too far on a ducking and dodging bobcat track in thick brush and keep up making bad loses. If your paying over 350 a pup your buying hype and allot of hope not ability
