Dog wont hunt

I have a 4 year old male dog that wont hunt. He showed up at my pens a while back and never left so I decided to keep him. When I attempted to hunt him he just sat there. Any ideas as to why he won't even attempt to pick up a trail

I have a walker/lab mix that I got from a buddy. Never thought about training her so I had her fixed so my parents would let my brother have her.
