Is anyone running tree dogs in Southern California? I normally hunt at night for fox and coon and do a few out of state trips in the winter.

They are slick critters no doubt. Two lessons I’ve learned are never put dogs down on the day you drive home or if your on a schedule and never assume where the track will end.

My thought has always been e collars are for reinforcing what the dog/pup already knows. Once your pup knows the basics then slowly introduce the shock. I teach tone and here/come at the same time.

I guess drive doesn’t mean much unless you have the intelligence to go with it. This particular dog needs an extra lock on his kennel and shows signs of decent intelligence.
