Re: works good for 'doggers
It works great the way it is when its cold, but on warm spring days it gets a little warm. In two feet of powder it stays bone dry and that is what I was after. It is 80lbs and I carry 3 dogs in it. The balance of the sled is more important than the wieght of it.

My brothers dogs are on dirt and the only time they smell is when rains real hard and then not half as bad as mine.I have to clean mine all the time 2-3 times a week to keep the smell down.If I spray mine down once a day they stay ok.I ...

Re: Start 'em early!
Here's my newest addition, Gamble, with his best friend in the world, my barncat Timmy.
Timmy is a little "slow" (litterally, he has mental problems) and every dog is his best friend (though he has so far stayed away from the big dogs.) This is the first time he's had a hound dog for a freind ...

Re: Number of dogs ideal to catch a lion.
Shiemer, All im saying is a dog has a hard time learning to trail a lion when there are 3 or 4 better, faster dogs in front plowing through the snow. You might make a better tree dog but he needs to learn to trail. Your best bet at that point is to tie dogs and let it jump and let them go on there ...

Re: Average length of a jumped lion chase?
In the Timber not very far. 1/4 of a mile would be a long jump. In the deep snow it would be a lot shorter, 500 yards would be a long jump.

Most of you boys out there that think your cat hunters could probably learn something, about cat including myself. A good pack of cat dogs that are hunted hard miss very few cats. When you have hunted with a good pack of straight cat dogs they make it look easy. I have seen very few combination ...

I think this not as big of a deal as its being made out to be.In 10 years of hunting my dogs I have only seen one cop in the woods and that was the last day of elk season. So lets here from those who have been writen one of these ...
