Anybody know when Marshall or someone else will have one out.
We are not happy with the range on the one we have.

Re: why wont she tree???
Stop hunting her with your pups is about all you can do. A dog that old should never leave a tree especially one with a bear in it. I'm sure it's not what you were looking for but that is the best help i can be.

Re: barking dogs
If you have tried as hard as you said, I would cull that dog and sleep easy. I keep 12 - 15 hounds and have had a couple hounds like the one you described. I have a trashbreaker system and bark collars and my yard keeps pretty quiet. But when one barks as much as the other 14 there is something ...

Re: retired dogs
If a hound is good enough and lucky enough to make it to retirement age they will eat my feed until they die. I have to much respect for a hound of that caliber to let them go. My old ones still get hunted a little and it is still fun remembering what they have done for me in the past. I would never ...

Re: Icom ic-r10 tracker question
I had one stop working and a buddy did alot of calling around. He found one place to send it, in CA i believe but they said it was a discontinued model and wouldn't be worth the money for them to even look at it. So I bought a used one, still have the old one and would love to know where it could be ...

Re: Who would like to run big bears!!
Man, it is a darn shame Hawthorne, two years ago my truck would have had the petal to the metal to hunt with you. We have hunted Ontario 4 times and loved every trip. No other hunters, over the counter tags and a load of bears. A nice change from waiting 10 years to get a tag in Wisconsin! Good luck.

Re: Blood Hounds + Hunting = ???
I guess I never asked where he got his breeding stock. He is a bear hunter and with the bloodhounds he had they wouldn't stay in the woods with a mean bear and were always way behind, maybe others have had better. I haven't talked to him in a while, I'll have to see if he still has any of the ...

I have also tried that, the hounds seem to trail harder when I have done that compared to just a drag. What other differences it makes I just don't know.

Cut
I cut my best dog 4 months ago because he threw to many culls, and he was 6. It hasn't hurt his hunting one bit. You have nothing to lose, you can only gain.

Brown bear hunting in europe link wanted.
I seen a link to some footage of brown bear hunting with dogs in finland or sweeden on here a while back, and I have lost the link in my computer. I tried finding it on here again but am getting bug eyed looking. So if someone could post it that would be cool, it is good footage, one has the dog cam ...

Re: bear scent
For me the best drag is a chunk of hide from the animal I am training on. That way a little natural scent gets mixed in with the training scent.
