Re: Deer dogs
Yeah amazingly it's one of the few things that's legal in ca. And I feel you Scrub on large groups, we don't usually have too many guys when we're running them and if there are is usually more family than friends.

Re: Deer dogs
He's pretty much correct. Ca deer dogging is a little different than the south but, same idea if you don't put em in the ground before the dogs push em out then that deer and those dogs are gone for a while. I suppose if you had taller hearding type dogs you could train them to turn the deer or get ...

Re: Running Deer with Dogs?
We run beagles and what ever else will chase deer but they all do it a little different.

Re: Deer dogs
Not from the south but our dogs did pretty good this year.
We run mostly beagles but I've got what is supposed to be a pure bread Jack Russell that we rescued. I don't think he's full jack cause he's on the small side 10-11#'s but what ever else he is doesn't seem to water down the jack at all. He ...

Re: finally got some rain!!
I've heard the main guy from the show (Boyd I think was his last name) is a real bag of tools.
I've never had the displeasure of meeting him but know a few people who have. My dad and I did have a rather uncomfortable meeting with 2 rookie fish cops a couple deer seasons ago. We were just kinda ...

Re: Shoulder or Hip Holster?
i like a thigh rig, used to carry on my hip but the butt of my rifle would smack it while hiking if my rifle was slung over my sholder. havn't looked into to may sholder rigs as they all seem real pricy to me but im making more $$$$ these days so it may be time to shop more.
