Re: Wild Clover Bred Walker Stud in Northern California

I was going to wait and see what I had before I posted anything :) I really have no idea when she'll be in... thinking mayish but she's been sporadic of when she's come in the last few times. Didn't want to jinx myself... For everyone who's asked, I'll try and get her pedigree up tonight. She's used...

Re: Wild Clover Bred Walker Stud in Northern California

I plan on breeding my Jane female to Gamble this year. I've considered different males for 4 years and he's the one I think will be the best cross.. She'll be turning 8 this year so this will be her second and last litter of pups. She's not the coldest nosed or the fastest dog out there but she is 1...

Re: Easiest Hound Breed to Train

If "easiest to train" means fewest headaches, most relaxing enjoyable hunt, I go home when I want to go home, catch a bobcat off a good warm track, takes longer to skin the coons than it did to catch them, take a kid squirrel hunting and have a blast he will dream of until he can do it ag...

Re: Easiest Hound Breed to Train

If you lump all the dogs in their breed together- then I agree with Dan. The Leopard is pretty easy. The one I have has honestly made me think about bringing more home. There are dogs in their breed that are easier to train and live with then others. I have a few OCD tendencies that make me get rid ...

Re: Best Dog Food

Back when I started hunting I fed Atta Boy ;) I've fed Nutro, Black Gold, Purina, Loyall, Diamond, Kirkland and Diamond Naturals. I keep coming back to the Diamond Naturals line. I've got one dog that the Extreme Athlete seems to be a bit much for him (and super high protein/fat seems to upset him) ...

Re: Stinkin' Wolves

I am sorry about your loss.. I know how attached I am to my 10 year old dog that I have raised up from a pup and I know if he went out like that, I would a very long time recovering emotionally from that loss.. And sorry for that boy who lost his first hound in such a terrible manner.. And for your ...

Re: ok dumb question ?

Usually when it comes to picking up pup, I go with the one that I'm drawn to.. I don't know how else to explain it.. I can usually just look at a litter and say "Ok, that is the one I want" within a few minutes of watching them.. I run Walkers and I like them small, tight made and white.. ...

Re: Breed ID

The red pup does look like an English or English cross of sorts.. The black one, to me, looks more like a Pointer pup that didn't have it's tail docked.....

Re: Line Bred Bobcat Hounds???

I don't think those pups have any color faults.. They are a product of their heritage.. I can say when I raise a litter, then will be tri colored :D Does that count on telling what color they will be :D I'm not sure what I would do if my only pup worth breeding was recessive.. One of my favorite mal...

Re: Line Bred Bobcat Hounds???

CJC- I haven't decided 100% yet on what I'm breeding Mabel to- I'm hunting a Brisco pup that is out of my outcross (my Jane dog)- if I like him- it will be an Aunt to Nephew cross.. I'm hoping to hunt with a couple of Brisco/Mabel pups to see which one I think will cross best- if it's one of them. M...

Re: Line Bred Bobcat Hounds???

Alabama Cathunter- I have made 3 crosses on half siblings- Crosses A & B were on the same dogs and cross C- the female was a littermate to the female used it crosses A & B. I very much like the results from those crosses. I did have a recessive color gene show up- non of those pups will be u...
