Re: dog not staying treed

Natural leader. Time to break away from the old timer, unless he gets to start the track with the other dogs. When you seen him trying to start his own track, did you identify what it was? good game or bad game or flaming hot track, from game up the tree? I've seen young dogs that didn't see the ...

Re: greed or just killing

Greed or just killing? It seems to me from what I read here. Is, your taking mother nature into your own hands. If you believe that there is not many gray fox around do to lack of feed. Then why populate the area more? So they would starve to death? If he was doing this outside of season, I could ...

Re: Grey fox feet

Thanks for the kind words. Fox, sure are fun to chase and it takes a good all around hound to catch them. Fox and coon, are the only treeing game we can legally run here.

Re: Grey fox feet

I will agree, after reading some of the articles posted their claws may not be retractable. But their claws are definitely designed different than that, of red or coyote. To me they are skinnier and more hooked, like a cat or even a bear. I don't think they "like to climb", I think they are designed ...

Re: Grey fox feet

gray fox have retractable claws, red fox don't. gray fox I believe are related to the kit fox. maybe that's were they get the retractable claws and ability to climb. Never seen a red fox tree. I've seen them climb a real slanted tree and which case, up the tree the dogs went too.jmo
