Re: cheap outfitter prices
Actually there is a big differance. Fuel prices were not close to $4.00 a gallon back in the late 80's and early 90's. Cost of groceries to feed a hunter back in the day you can buy a whole shopping cart of groceries compared to one to two bags today. Bait sites from Boise Cascade and others did not...

Re: cheap outfitter prices
My only answer to that is they are booking for quantity of hunters not quality of hunt. How many bait sites will be reserved per hunter? Chances are there will only be one. Bait sites cost average about $50 per site to the paper companies not to mention all the bait and the gas to get those sites go...

Re: Young hound not barking
more exposure and a roll caged coon if you can with other hounds. 10 months is young and every pup even those from the same litter will mature and advance at different levels.

Re: HUNTIN ALONE;
If it was me, I wouldn't get to worried about finding someone to hunt with. Some of the most rewarding hunting I have ever done was alone. It gives you the opportunity to hunt your dogs exactly as you please. Just be careful and let someone know where you are going and go prepared. Scott Diddo well...

Re: .30-30??
30-30 is a fine weapon if your yardages are not going to exceed 150-200. They are still accurate but they loose alot of energy past those points. I have the Marlin and we use it along with our 35 Marlin when lion hunting. I have them sitting as backups for those hunters that show up and have some fo...

Re: Hound books - Stories, training and techniques
well you were right in what you said in your last paragraph, walk with wicks is a training book and its trainng a hound a-z on the basics. There are no so called training books for big game. The other books you mentioned are excellent reads for big game but there are many more after those. The Longw...

Thanks Deano its not Alaska but it will do for now
Thanks John I appreciate that. Right now things are slow and we are pushing trips on the river and having lots of fun. If you have nothing going on around the 15th of August give me a call we are having a get together.
