it sounds like in your story that you lost the track tin the trees. had any of the snow melted and dripped off the trees it would kill the track fast.

i have 2 4 month old pups and i started them with treats in a metal water bottle. when i shake it, it obviosly rattles. i only give them a treat about every 5th time. it seems to work great. not sure about a older dog but worth a try and its easy to haul with you.

just out of curiosity(i am new to the sport) do u try and find a home that just wants a family dog. almost all of the hounds i have seen have great tempers and would be great pets if that what was wanted. ive also learned one guys trash is anothers treasure.
