Re: Anybody in Maine putting up good numbers or size bears
J.R. you may hate that indian land, but remember, all the land use to belong to the native americans until our forefathers came and took it by force. In my opinion they don't have enough.

Re: Anybody in Maine putting up good numbers or size bears
Bob, tell more about this CONTRACT deal. How does that work? I know someone from out of state can hold a Maine guides license, but as far as the rules go, that person can only guide Maine residents, not non-residents.

Re: Anybody in Maine putting up good numbers or size bears
You are right on J.R. A new guy cant buy any site now off the paper company. They are cutting back next year 10% as the baits are getting too many and too close to each other. Makes it impossible to have a few baits to run off of unless you talk to private land owners. Even then one may be set up ...

Re: Anybody in Maine putting up good numbers or size bears
100 to 200 bait sites? For 1 outfitter? Christ, thats just ridiculous. Those baits must be on top of each other or someone elses. No wonder the paper companies are cutting back 10% on bait sites next year. Glad I bait on private land.

Re: Anybody in Maine putting up good numbers or size bears
It was a slow start to the season, but things are really picking up that last few weeks. Quite a few bears killed around here upper 200lb range. over 300 and a couple over 400lbs. The ones I have seen killed during dog season have had all kinds of fat. 2 to 3 inches. I think the state is doing a ...

Re: anyone start a bobcat this week in maine
Don't sorry me, I don't care how many cats you kill there. I don't live there anymore. I was just a new
houndhunter at the time looking for some help and all I got was crapped on by an arrogant prick and no
more cat track to walk my dog on. Doesn't matter now, she is gone, but you're still a bs ...

Re: anyone start a bobcat this week in maine
Hey Treesadie, why dont you give me your address so I can come show you how to kill that big cat in your backyard. Next time you decide to call someone you don't know or have never spoken to for that matter an arrogant prick on a public forum you should think twice. It is really to bad houndsmen ...

No, I haven't. I don't coonhunt anymore, but Clay is a member of our club. You might ask Bill Dereszewski at Hollaback kennels, he might have and he probably has his number.

Re: california warden show
Damn, I feel for you guys. Sounds like a bunch of bullshit. They should just make it legal like it is here in Maine. We can sell anything but the meat on deer, bear and moose, and the plummage of turkeys and waterfowl. We have no unusual amount of poaching just for galls.

Re: anyone start a bobcat this week in maine
I've got a nice sized cat in my backyard that moved right after the storm was over. His tracks were all over my field. Trying to get at my chickens I would guess. Gonna set up the trailcam over some bait and try to get some pics of him. I didnt find any other cat tracks though in my travels. Plenty ...
