Curs and Terriers are what i have used. Some guys use the O'gorman dorn dogs. Anything you can train to follow a drag will work.

Get a dog with striker on both sides. Derril Fry has had some great dogs his Tigra dog has been a great producer.

I know Tony Tebbs has a hell of a male dog thats black mouth/catahoula cur. He is a coyote decoying machine.
