Some hounds are a little too smart!

I was out hunting mountain lion tracks all night. I pulled up a forest road about daylight. I saw that I was the second one to check the road.
Disappointedly, I let the dogs out for a clean out.
The guy that had checked the road came driving out. MR. T (My pack leader at the time.) made the guy ...

All too true. Certainly is great to see Trump doing his best to be a good leader and patriot. Wish the rest of the legislature would get it in gear...

American beer

My Dad walked into a pub in Scotland. The Scottish bartender asked my Dad. “Do you know why American beer is like making love in a canoe?”
My Dad replied that he didn’t.
“Because they are both f**ing close to water!”

DC 50 is better than the DC30

I agree with your assessment of the DC 50. Better than the dc30 and vastly improved over the dc40. The DC 50 Charger snaps onto one side of the collar (like the DC30 unlike the DC40), which makes it possible to attach an auxiliary battery to the opposite side (hole through the housing and soldier ...

Re: Do Wade Lemons make good ca dogs

Wade is a pretty good guy. One of my best dogs was out of Wade's line -bought from his nephew Tyler. A pup would be a good idea. I would shy away from his older dogs. I have bought some $2500 poor performers from him in the past. He makes his living with his hounds, this means that he keeps his best ...

Re: how would you figure this out?

You will get interference. The things you can do to minimize: 1) update all collars and handheld units, 2) have one person go load each collar to its corresponding unit, 3) write the communication # that you use down as you load each collar, 4) don't re-use any communication #, 5) use 30 second ...

Re: DC 30 accessory battery pack

Battery life for 10 second updates should be 81 hours (assumes 24 hour life with original battery, auxiliary battery boost 3.4X original battery life). 30 second update should be 122hr or 5 days. Waterproofing is a potential issue. I sealed mine with 100% silicone and guerrilla taped it with a ...

Re: NM game regulation changes

I like the sound of it.
If any outfitters took G & F to court saying "We couldn't fill our hunter's tags because they counted depredation against the quota and shut the unit down.", game and fish would be liable for unlawful interference with the livelihood of the outfitter. Lion hunts running ...

Re: DC 30 accessory battery pack

Battery pack fully charges in 5 hours. The battery indicator shows 2 of 4 bars when fully charged. It drops to low battery after the first 24 hours and continues to run.
My only thought on a reason for this is the accessory battery may run closer to a true 3.7V were the original batteries run 4.3V ...

Re: DC 30 accessory battery pack

The battery ran the DC 30 for 58 hours with 5 second updates. The combined battery gave 9200mAh. The auxiliary battery pack weighed 4.62 oz (even though the advertisement stated 9 oz). I soddered red to red and black to black on the 2600mAh replacement battery pack (this was + with + and - with ...
