Here's a suggestion that requires no training. Clip their nails as short as possible. That way they don't have that little extra grip that enables them to climb, do this to the dew claw also if they have them. It helps in some cases, the easy trees will still be a problem but it will keep them out ...

I enjoy getting on here and reading about the dogs and hearing the stories. I'm a oldman now and can't get around like I used to. I hunted mixed up hounds in my day. I had a dog "treed" one time and I was so proud walking into that tree. About 50 yards out a deer broke from the trees and my dog followed. Coyotes will do the same. - Gerald
