Re: Bird dog/hound cross

Its a great cross, although i prefer to cross with an english pointer. It adds the range that i like in a dog. Great noses and they hunt deep and run silent. Very intellegent too.

Re: Hounds

I run a 100% plott pack. Back to your question, the pros IMO are the nose, range, and drive. The cons are it's defiantly harder to break a hound. You have to be a little more careful how you hunt them.

Lol, yea I don't think there is any thing as a true hog dog in that part of the country. Those pups sure had the breeding to make a good one.

Re: Big Game Bred Plott Pups Forsale !!!

I bought 2 of these pups. They were delivered with parvo and died three days later. As far as I know so did the rest of the pups in the litter. I still haven't received my money and now he won't respond to my text or calls. I will remove this post when I receive my money! :x

Re: What feed to give your Dog?

I feed Diamond Naturals Extreme Athelete, chicken and rice formula. 33 dollars a bag and my dogs look gread and perform even better. Smells like cooked chicken when you open the bag.

Re: crokett pups

Joe Dorsey in, I think Tennessee, claims to have the purest crockett blood around. Ive got a guy thats trying to get his number for me. When he does i'll post it. He sells a few pups and some finished dogs. He will show them in the woods and put a guarentee on them.

Re: DO NOT KNOW IF I SHOULD QUIT HUNTING OR NOT

I dont think he's saying he sneaks onto private property. I think what he is saying is, it is much easier retrieving your dogs, after dark, if they get on private property. I too do most of my hunting after dark for the same reason. Your also more likely to be the only one in the woods in the area ...

Re: Ridge backs

The full bloods that I know of all have lots of health problems, and a ridgeback has a fairly short lifespan compared to other dogs. I would stick to a cross. That ridgeback redbone cross sounds like a good one.

Re: Trash breaking Help

Every year at the end of deer season i go kill a deer and leash each dog to it one at a time with a training collar. I go back in the house and hammer down. the dog doesnt associate you with the incident and is glad to see you return. It works very well.
