Re: montana lion hunting

I know the complaint of FWP is that they give out say... 20 tags for an area and only 6 cats are being killed. Well no kidding? When 14 of the tag holders don't own a dog and think that someone with dogs is just dying to have them come along and kill a cat over theirs.
How bout this? If they want ...

Re: Chisum-Trail Male for sale

Daisy is doing great! Had her on a few lions over the winter, including a harvest. Was hoping she would get a little more experience, but either way you can't ever seem to hunt them enough.

She definatly has desire to run a cat, can't let her out of the kennel unattended anymore, she realized the ...

Re: Who's Planning to Attend the Mountain Lion Workshop in M

I was really hoping to make it....... unfortunatly it doesn't sound like my new "boss man" is putting the trip together for us like I asked, so I guess I'll stay home and work.

Should be a really great event for any of you that might be questioning going or not. Some of the names I heard that wll ...

Re: Big Tom Track

Hey R......MThounder, that is definatly a dandy cat and Im glad to here he made it through the winter. I know the frustration of leaving a nice tom in the tree then two days later he gets whacked in the next drainage, of course that don't happen much anymore, not many cats left to "whack" out there ...

Re: Montanan's enjoy your lion populations? They may change

I question how much those legislators listen anyway as in January I e-mailed several of them to try to get a bill introduced to legalize the use of hounds for bear hunting and none of them ever replied to my e-mail. They could have at least replied and given me some kind of excuse rather than just ...

Re: ONZA!!!!!!

Is that a loteck collar? I was wondering how you padded that collar to fill in the extra gap?

Last spring we collared a young tom. I left some extra gap on the collar to compensate for growth. He was only about 80# at the time. I used some foam that we had handy, I think it's considered closed ...

Re: Montanan's enjoy your lion populations? They may change

The bill is not dead yet, its still under controll of the commitee.

Unfortunatly I wasn't able to make it. It does sound to me though that the ones who did make it and speak did a great job! Supposidly there was 100% opposition to the bill including our FWP. Most likely the bill will not get to ...

Re: female killers

I really didn't want to get in on this one, but what the hell.

My thoughts are if your state allows the harvest of those females, noone can be pointing fingers at the houndsmen, outfitters, or whoever for harvesting them. If it is leagal, it going to happen. Simply put, there's always going to be ...

Re: Montanan's enjoy your lion populations? They may change

HB 578 go to the floor on Thursday March 10. Anyone with any concerns should make comments now. Hopefully the bill will not go any futher than the House but it's not worth it to sit around to wait and see!!

Another point........ if somthing like this becomes law, do you ever think the animal ...
