fox differ from yote
for you guys familiar with running fox and yotes, how do yotes run differently from fox. i'm asking because my dogs run fox a lot and that's ok but sometimes the game will behave differently. it won't run in a good circuit. i was thinking it could be yotes but i don't know.

Re: Raising hounds pack style... some ?s
when i was a preteenager, about 50 yrs ago, i took care of my grandfathers' foxhounds. he kept one pack of younger dogs of mixed sexes in one large pen or yard and another pack of about 20 dogs in another pen. i don't recall there ever being any fights. each pack slept in one common dog house. there...

Re: fox hunting
i have two curs, a stephens and a kemmer stock and two plotts from bear hunting stock. i guess they aren't putting enough pressure on the fox because the fox is usually a good ways ahead of the dogs. i ran one last night. i saw that it was going to cross a dirt road and stopped short of with my head...

Re: fox hunting
they usually run a circuit. sometimes a track will paraelell a road and they go back and forth. sometimes a circle and not too big either. i can jog along with the race and see my dogs collar lights flash because they are that close to the road. i wonder why they don't run faster, maybe because it's...

Re: Young hound not barking
some dogs bark more than others and there is little you can do to make one bark more than its genes require. but, your dog may be a little slow getting its barks going or needs a little time to get its confidence up. give it time, that's all you can do.

john wick doesn't recommend doing much of anything with a dog until it about 1 year old. be careful with the drags. they do more for the person than they do the dog.

my dogs are as trashy as a city dump. i feed them all the squirrels i kill. i boil the squirrels, the whole thing minus the head and front legs, i debone the squirrels. cook rice in the stock and add the meat to the rice. then i mix the squirrel/rice with their regular fed. they love it. if i had a ...
