Re: FWP Gives permission to kill 3 yearlings

I think Badlandcat was talking about all kills including incidental kills via hit by car, problem cat, trapping ect. How do you set a quotas when the MT Fish and Wildlife does not count these kills against what the Houndsman and the Fish and Game think are the number of lions from an area that can b...

Re: FWP Gives permission to kill 3 yearlings

I hardly ever or never agree with the Fish and Game on anything they do. With no first hand knowledge of the whole episode and the limited info stated on this post I have to agree with the wardens call on this. The biggest loss in this episode was the loss of that female. Any female that can raise 3...

Re: Not all kittens get stretched

Just like the other post this one is filled full of BS. Anyone that has hunted long enough and ran enough lions knows what goes on. My advise to all the newbees is hunt the way you want if legal in your area. Listening to a bunch of hypocritical BS spewed by other houndsman isnt gona help you get yo...

Re: Some people never grow up

If legal in your state I say do what ever you feel is ok . Listening to all this whats ethical BS reminds of of time after time Ive heard the same BS spewed from other houndsman. They would proclaim to anyone who would listen that even though there were females on the quota that they would never kil...

Re: Some people never grow up

What does trapping wolverines have to do with anything. Montana allows 5 wolverines to be taken each year. Most years around 3 or 4 get taken. All in the most northwest section of the state close to the canadaian border . By your comments I can tell you been watch animal planet and believe the bunny...

Re: Some people never grow up

Lion hunters are suppose to be able to read tracks and not one of you can even get the story right from the tracks in the story. Its ovious to me that the guy in this story is a newbee. All that litter and beer cans should of been your tip off. Everytime he found a deer, elk, coyote, or any other tr...

Re: And they say labs are great dogs for kids

Most of you guys have kennels full of potentual great house and yard dogs. Unless you need a speciality dog for bird hunting ect why not take one of your hounds and let it run the yard, play with the kids and sleep in the house. At least this way ya could have the best of both worlds a duel purpose ...

Re: How long are bobcats prime?

I agree that breeding season should be involved in the season dates. I would rather see the harvest season during the breeding season as the toms really travel and give the trapper or houndsman a way better chance at taking a tom vs. a female. Here we are on a personal bag limit with a quota system....

Re: How long are bobcats prime?

In Montana Bobcats arent fully prime when the season opens Dec 1st. On average they dont hair all the way up till in Jan. They are one of the last animals to prime up and they they should have good hair till into the first of april around here. Id like to see the bobcat season start Jan 1 instead of...

Although this is old news the northern yellowstone herd of 19,000 elk had been reduced to less then 9000 elk in less ythen 10 yrs of wolf reintroduction. This herd had to endure all the other predators (grizzly and black bears, lions, coyotes and traffic ect) plus allowed for hunting and a permit sy...

North Americas most efficient Predator

Wolves hands down. I read the Monster Muley Site often. There are alot of Deer and Elk hunters on there that really blame Lions for every kill or bones they see in the field. And although we all know Lions are killing Elk and Deer. We still had a very high population in most areas in Montana of Elk ...
