Re: Pull the trigger? It's your choice

You just have to love the hound hunting community. A guy gets his dad a lion and people demonize him because some wouldn’t have shot it. It is hailed as a “bad decision” and there are multiple people trying to tell him how he should have done differently and gotten him a tom. He hunted hard and came ...

B&C LION in Huntin' Fool Mag... Need Votes

Hello Everyone,
I recently got a story published in August edition of the Huntin' Fool magazine put out by Carter's Hunter Services about a B&C lion that Mike and Trish Pimentel and I caught last December.

If you get the magazine, or know someone who does, they do a contest for the most votes and ...

Re: Guide in Idaho, Units 32/ 32a proposal?

It sounds like it is going to be at most two more dead bears and two more dead lions and maybe 3% worse draw odds.

In comparison, California will likely lose all hound hunting besides coons and foxes.

I wouldn't get my panties in a wad either way on this issue.

Re: Guide in Idaho, Units 32/ 32a proposal?

Let the man run his business.

Instead of fighting against other hunters (outfitters) why not take the time and energy and fight F & G about lowering female quotas on lions in Idaho. Or making our lion pursuit season all year long... or something that benefits more than just you. Maybe if we keep ...

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. That sounds like it would be pretty neat. Gotta respect those sled dogs.

The hound hunting and fly-fishing sucks in Idaho...tell everyone in Utah.

Re: 2012 lion season coming to a end

How do you get a pet mule deer?

I think it is a great idea, although only having two dogs I don't think I could justify having a deer just for that reason.

First Lion on My Own

On Saturday I headed out to a canyon a few miles from the house to walk. I drive a '93 Maxima, so I unless I go with buddies, I have to walk to cut tracks. I got about 500 yards in and my younger bluetick winded something and started to go up the hill to my left. She didn't open up but just started ...

Re: turning loose on a wounded lion?

I would, because my dogs might actually be able to catch a wounded one...

Actually, if I wasn't directly responsible for wounding the animal, I wouldn't risk my dogs' lives and well being on someone elses mistake. People have been able to find wounded animals without dogs before and they will ...

Re: big tom

This is the type of B.S. that gives everybody with a hound a bad name. The post was clearly meant to convey that he caught the cat very recently and then let it go. Otherwise it would have said, "Hey, look what a guy I know caught three yeas ago...isn't this picture cool."
