Re: How many people do this ?
I have 3 hounds the oldest is about 4 looks like a redtick but is out of a couple walkers. I've had him 2 years and he's pretty solid. The other one I'm concerned with is a redbone cross that is green as gooseshit but shows lots of potential. He's about 2 but new to hunting this spring. I hunt bear ...

Re: How many people do this ?
I do also but I like to make some noise some times from a distance to see what dogs will pull off a tree and try to meet me. That I can not handle from a dog with much more than a year under his or her belt. If you sneek up on them all the time you don't always get that chance soon enough to ...

Re: strike dogs
My dogs strike from the box. Bears and cats. Dry grounded a lynx 2 weeks ago.
I'm testing out a tip I picked up on this site. I put my dog box at the tailgate instead of right behind the cab. So far I feel its working better for me.

Re: One set of tracks, how many lions?????
It's a shame you can't keep the tom collared as well as getting one on her. Seems like a great opportunity to gain knowledge of their interactions. I think it would be well worth the cost of another collar.
Anyway great pics and info. Thank you for your posts.

Re: Cougar Harvest Quotas
I'll take a shot at this one for BC. Our cougars are a general open season. Or GOS for short. Bc resident hunters can buy two 30 dollar tags and kill 2 cougars in the province. In region 4 kootenay the regional bag limit is 1. There is also a quota on females that if reached causes the season to ...

Re: Marking tracks?
One morning in early january I cut a tom track just off the newgate. (Cranbrook area) I put a leather workglove on a stick and stood it in the track. I then proceeded to try box it in or cut it fresher. I also had to grab my buddy and bring him to the track. When I returned at 10 am two different ...
