I have tried it with coyotes. When i ran fox in ca I would catch a coyote in a trap and through it in the dog kennels with the other dogs and after a few days I could dump them on one that ran across the road and they wouldnt even look at the ground. Have you ever hunt up in high mountain why your there? My granddad Ceil Little and me got stuck up there between the creek and the backside of the mountain for 3 days. It rained that night and the creek rose and the backside going down go to sloppy to go down. Had to hunt just 1 mile streach of road ...

You kind of want to stay away from the running hounds if you want tree a grey fox, the are hard to make them to sit down and tree. You would be better of tryin a walker cross with a little runnin dog with them. When I ran fox in so. cali. the costal brush is real thick so I had walkers with some cur ...

I was looking through some of my old fullcry magizens and came a cross a real houndy looking walker. Its in the April 2001 on page 121. I havent heard or seen a santa maria hound in years, they used to be hell on fox and bobcats, I hope you can find they where really good dogs. You might try findin someone who attends trade days in arryo grande, I am not sure if the tri-county houndsmen assic. still there but its worth a try
