Re: jim harrell

I used Jim a number of years back. I had two pups I needed trained and I busted my leg, so rather than have them miss their first season, I had a buddy drive those 8 month pups up to Jim's place and he got them started. He hunts all the time and knows where the cats are. He's all business and "no ...

Re: OW Hill's Sierra Line Returns West to Colorado

Phil,
UNBELIEVABLE! And I thought you were lucky before, with that nice family of yours and those fine hounds...well, what can I say? This beats all! Amazing! You know that big fire that burned Four Mile Canyon/Sunshine Canyon area, west of Boulder. It came within less than a mile of my property in ...

Re: OW Hill's Sierra Line Returns West to Colorado

That's a handsome young hound, Phil. Gotta like that line of dogs. While I've only seen photos on line, that Vindicator (the father dog) looks about perfect to me. Glad to see you guys made it through that nasty big fire in the Black Forest. That had to be scary. I hope you and that nice family you ...

Re: HD 120

I believe Jim Harrell hunts that area. He's out of Swan Lake. Whether he has the required tag I couldn't say. But he does have the expertise and the dog power. He's also no nonsense, so you'd be wasting your time if you're trying to pull something. (Sorry to sound cynical but i don't find most ...

Re: looking for minisink vally blueticks

12 Gauge,

If you can find the time, I would appreciate it if you could explain your point. I realize you know the Minisink line well, and I would enjoy hearing from you on this score. The more detail, the better.

Lorne,

I've got a pair of all-blues that look a lot like your dog shown here, and ...

Re: looking for minisink vally blueticks

Cougarhound,
Your hound looks like an all-blue. Is it? And is it pure Minisink top and bottom? Don't mean to be nosey, but I'd like to know as I have three all-blues and I'm interested in different strains. Thanks and good hunting!

Re: Lions in culverts

Sean, Thanks for the kind words and the good advice. While those two pups are plenty goofy, I'm nuts about them, and I'll be sure to do as you advise. Besides, how could I do otherwise, and hold my head up around guys like you and Jim? I hope your hunting season is going well. Best regards, Tom

Lions in culverts

Fellas, I thought some of you might find this sort of situation interesting, though I’m not sure what can be done about it. I got my leg busted but good mid-December of last year, and I had two 7-month old gascon/bluetick pups that needed training this season. So I had a friend drive them up to Jim ...

Fellas, I thought some of you might find this interesting, though I’m not sure what can be done about it. I got my leg busted mid-December with two 7-month old pups that needed training, so I had a friend, Derek, drive them up to Jim Harrell’s place in Montana.

The first ...
