I have a 1 1/2 yr old redbone... about 5 times over the last 3 weeks, he has started to cough/gag (almost like he is getting ready to vomit) and then when I let him out he eats as much grass AS FAST AS HE CAN for about 30 min, and then he's fine.... I agree with the rest. Tough luck, best of wishes though.

You may have already tried this but, as far as dealing with vets goes, sometimes it helps to be up front with them. Remember, they're animal lovers, hounds included.... so, when they hear that you might cull your hound instead paying a bill ...
