I don't know. They smell different. Some dogs are bred more for fox. I figured the fight had something to do with it. Yes they can be broke but it takes time.

I am a coyote hunter, I can tell you this, if the dogs tracking ability is about the same the silent dog will sooner or later be alone and out front. Here's why: On a loss the other dogs can't hear him pick it up. Just depends what you can live with.

I agree that a cold snow is much better than a warm thawing snow. The last time I made that statement we ran one of those rare coyotes that ran just in front of the dogs to make a liar out of me that day. You know how that goes......
