Re: sight hounds

I'm getting a stag/grey cross and plan to breed it to my super fast walker hound. Will be running them on lions, bears, and bobcats. Don't know what to expect but I can keep you posted.

Most males are a least somewhat distracted from hunting by sniffing, peeing ...

Re: gritty hounds

Most gritty dogs I've had are airedale/walker crosses. Insanely gritty. The man I get them from had a pack of them that would stretch out a good sized bear on the ground and hold them like a hog. I am also running some catahoulas and leopard hounds that are pretty young still but showing good ...

Vern Caldwell

I was looking on here about some of the old timers stories about Cap Atwood and Ben Lilly and was wondering if anyone had stories of Vern Caldwell. He was a government trapper in CO, and ran some with both of them back in the day. He was my great grandfather but died when my dad was very young and ...

Re: What the best way to start rigging a dog

Go make some drags with bobcat scent and put them up on the rig rail. Drive past the scent to see if they pick it up. If they start riggin it turn them loose if not back up to the start and turn them down to it off the rail. If they have te nose for it they should start gettin the hang of it
