I was just in Montana as well lion hunting with my dogs.I live in Idaho not far from the border and I can say we do not have the population of cats that Montana has.I believe this to be because of mis management.I went there not to harvest a cat but to run them with my dogs.we can go days over here ...

These are all great tips !!! But i can tell you that even a season hound hunter has a hard time with 3 pups.It can be done because i have done it and it is a pain in the ass even with a good pup trainer. Allot of people don't tell you but pups have a short attention span and love to play grab ass ...

I have both upson and 100% cameron dogs they both do very well for me !!!! I am thinking about trying to cross them up and see what happens!!!!!! I don't think you would go wrong by trying that pup out !! My Upson male is 2 1/2 years old and doing great on lions and bears

What part of Idaho is your club in ? I am in N Idaho and was a member of the N Idaho tree hound association but i don't think they have it any more. If you are close to here i might join.

I think there are good dogs in all breeds !!!!!! Stick with what you want and go with it!!!!!!! I run Cameron dogs and B&T's and they do very well for me !!!!!
