Re: New from Wisconsin
Houndsmen718 you run coyotes year round? I live just south of bear creek and I have a 10 month coyote hound who didnt get much hunting in this year because of the lack of snow. Would be interested in running with you.

Re: What to do in off season
I have no facts or anything about the 11k costs so it very well could be untrue. So it seems as though that you guys run a dog and bear and run it on some other type of game. That would be nice, not having to have a pack of dogs for every game. I could see how this would become costly.

Re: What to do in off season
In my opinion, I would shy away from trying to run yotes on dry ground if you plan to hunt that dog on bear. Hounds learn that snow means yotes or cats and dry ground means bear. Cuts down on the trash runs when bear hunting. Let em rest and work on handling during the off season.

Re: What to do in off season
Alright i was wondering if i could free cast them and see what they do. Would it be a bad idea setup an overhead cable guide for them to run on? I just feel bad or feel like im wasting them when they sit in the kennel all day everyday.

What to do in off season
This is probably a really really stupid question but im new to the sport and couldnt find an answer on here. Do you do any training in the off season, all the snow in central wisconsin here is pretty much gone and i was wondering what i could do to still work with my dog. I dont want him to forget ...

Starting a coyote pup
I currently have a 10 month old pup and alot of people are telling me to be patient and try to get him running by himself becuase it will make a better dog. Other people tell me I should get him running with older dogs. I have been running him by himself but he will follow the track for a mile and ...

Re: Starting dogs? help
I dont know if you have any coyote pens close to you but around 6 or 7 months i take them to a coyote pen and run them with experienced dogs. That way no deer scent or any other trash since theres a 14 foot fence around 80 acres. I kept my dog there for a week and the guy just let him out everyday ...

Re: Dog Food Storage ?
Bin that you mount to the wall, pull a lever and food comes out of bottom. Pretty nice, dont have to bend over. Got it from a nasco magazine.

Running Coon and Coyote?
Is it possible for a dog to run coon and coyote without trashing on either one. Do they figure out that coyote is in the daylight and coon at night? If anyone has had success with this i would be interested in how they did it.
Thanks much,
