i live in lincoln county nv. i have my dogs trained to run bobcat,lion,coon,bear. but its real tough to tree and keep one up for very long. we dont have big tall trees but what i found is when you can get in tall thick timber the cat will tree and stay awhile. it seems like they circle alot down ...

'01 frontier 6cyl huntin dry dirt i get fourteen to sixteen. depending on the amount of snow im pushin i get about 10 to 12 i also drive a 96 tacoma and it gets 20+ in dirt and snow unless its 2ft+

I've used athletic tape to wrap the tip and it works real well to keep it covered and keep from slitting bigger too. When i first started hunting i was having that problem and it would split up the tail quite a ways until i tried taping.

I my self have trailed a small tom for nine hours strait in the worst country. What pissed me off was i was in dry dirt and i was chasing to make sure dogs wouldn't get hung up, chased in a complete circle and treed about two hundred yards from the truck. It was brutal.
