How to catch a coyote?
Years ago my grandpa and my great uncles all had coyote hounds that were grey hounds crossed with irish wolf hounds and would run the coyotes down in the praries of southern Alberta. They would catch a couple hundred every year when the prices were high. I was wondering if the dogs you run are as ...

Handgun Caliber
I don't know much about handguns, but I see alot of guys have a gun on their hip when they are hunting the mountains in grizzly country. I was just wondering what caliber you guys are using and what six shooter?

Re: EXTRA TRASHY DOGS, CANNOT BREAK!
A shock collar will solve the problem. Sell a dog, buy a Trashbreaker. Two dogs treeing game is better than 3 running trash.

Re: best bait
I use marshmallows, any other fish or meat bait and it will be hard to keep the house cats out. If you catch a skunk, just tarp up the trap tight and get a 4" piece of hose and put one end under the tarp and the other over your exaust pipe. Wait 15 mins. and no more skunk. Don't use a diesel truck ...

Re: Griz
I have seen a huge grizz bayed up on the ground and the bear didn't have a care in the world. Not 1 dog would get within 10 feet of the bear. The bear would run when it seen us so we had to have one guy sneak in the other side of the bear and chase the bear towards his so we could catch the dogs ...

Here is female I got from Ronnie out of Thunder/Mandy. She is now 6, I wish I wouldn't have fixed her. I would like a couple more just like her.

Re: Whats your favorite breed of dog to run?
I'm a bit of a B&T fan, but I like any dog that can catch game. I really like the Hicks line. I had a Dollins plott that was 95lbs of muscle and was never ill toward any dog, but the coons he caught on the ground didn't fare too well.

Re: moveing on to something eles
I have only let go on a few day old tracks and as luck would have it at the end of the day their was a cougar in the tree, but I am sure I never caught the cat that we started. If you let the dogs run around long enough they seem to find thier own track to run. lol. You can't always find a smoking ...

If you get the pic of the whole litter I've had the best luck picking out the most "average pup". The one that is not the biggest or the runt, just right in the middle. Not the pup bouncing off the walls or the one hiding in the corner. I try to pick the one that doesn't stand out within the litter ...
