How much did u give your hounds.

Montana hounder when you say scrape are you just talking whats left over from your own meals (I have done that but theres never enough). Or are you talking scrape from like the butcher? And are you feeding raw or cooked? Thanks!!

I have been feeding beef meat scrapes to my hound for about a year. It is the only thing that keeps wieght on my hounds when running them hard. I also give the dogs a little dry food but it might take the dogs a week to eat a few cups of dog food. If you can get scrape i think it is the way to go.

I tryed Quest plus on my hounds about two weeks I think it did the job and i don't think it got them sick and their still alive.lol

I have caught two lions with trailway bobcat sets. All I had for bait was a duck wing attractor hung on a limb. We got them free by using the hounds to bay them while we used two ten foot poles to put pressure on the long springs. I was very intense for a few minutes try to get them set free.

I guess I'v seen good and bad in both. We have about 75 to 80 mules in hunting camp in wyoming. We keep all the mules at camp with a bell mare, mules have a stronger mothering instinct then horses. So they don't let that mare to far out of sight. Only thing i will say, when the boss sells his mules ...

I get scraps and bones from the local butcher plant, and it is free for the taking, got to love that.

they r full of hunt they all seem to have ball mouths. They all have all turned out to be all good looking hounds. i think that litter of pups you got one out of seem to have the right stuff to get the job done and well.

I got one out of litter i bought this spring, he is about five months old. I am located here in montana.

I think if you are tring to save money in this hound hunting game. Id get out before you start cause buying pups is cheap compared to the rest of this sport. lol

This is a great topic, I would like to know what everyone on this thread thinks the price should be on puppies, grade, proven grade, reg and proven reg. Im not much of a pup raiser but have had a few litters. I put a pencil to the cost last time i had a litter. Just to get even on food and shots ...

went back today to look at the pups with the kids and they had all been killed just legs and heads left. Who would of thought. I could not find any trace of what might have done this. any of you have any ideas. My first thought was wolf. but i might be wrong.
