Re: Arizona pursuit only season for bear

This survey has one purpose, to gauge the hunting public's opinion of possible changes/ideas. If the pursuit season gets a show of support, we might actually gain a catch and release season on top of what we already have. If the idea of us chasing bears more than we already do pisses people off and ...

Re: Arizona pursuit only season for bear

This post has had 286 views but only a few replys? I know that there are more arizona guys and out of staters that love to hunt arizona than the few that replied. Take the survey and make your voice heard! Then tell us about it and maybe more will do the same. They have a bear pursuit question on ...

Re: Arizona pursuit only season for bear

Now is our chance to help make something great happen! One of the questions is asking what we think about a pursuit season. Take the time to complete the survey and let them know what you think about a bear pursuit season in Arizona. Come on arizona houndhunters and anybody from anyplace that wants ...

Re: How much should young dogs be hunted?

As much as possibe...when the conditions are right. I take it easy on them up till a year and a half or so. I avoid hunting them if I think the conditions are not right and could set them back. I want to set them up for success so I pick and choose when its right. I get shit for it but it works for ...

Re: pup price question

If a pup has some pretty high odds of being what i think i can't live without I am willing to eat nothing but noodles and cut corners any place i can to afford it. Having said that, the most cash I ever paid was 500 then about 150 to get it here.

Of my best three dogs, I had to build dog boxes for ...

Re: question for the bear hunters

Waylon, sometimes here in AZ a cold nosed bear dog comes in pretty handy. After the season has been open a while most of the good units have closed so we are left bear hunting in spots with just a few bear. Sometimes the only track your gonna get is old and you might spend half the day walking with ...

Re: coon dog training question

What the guy posted before is right. Its a bad habit, it is contagious, and it won't get better on its own. It will usually get worse.

Occasionaly a good, reliable dog will tree on a tree with some kind of food in it because the coon was up there eating nuts or berries but already came down and ...

Re: split training

My dogs run coon and bear. It will complicate things but its worth it. I was bear hunting a few weeks ago and spent some time working a rig. It was about 8 in the morning and the dogs would blow up on the box when the wind was right. Finally thought I had the spot narrowed down and let the dogs ...

Re: New Utah Bear Laws

This is disturbing. I love the utah pursuit seasons. I have been making a vacation out of it for the last couple of years.

It is a very misguided proposal for several reasons.

According to DWR page, its sounds like noise is the major issues because it bothers the hikers. Are hikers more important ...
