Re: A bobcat hunting book
David, you get that book written, I'll be right up front buying my copy :) Along with the facts and figures, I truly hope your book is full of your philosophies and vigor for life. Including those two things will give any reader a true perspective on cat hunting. I'm still hoping you are able to com...

TRW that would be great stuff if you made that trip. I could put you up a few days if you wanted to hunt PA some. The guy's I have talked to from Maine don't do to well till the snow gets deep. I have never talked to Nelson though. Ted, are you sure you know what you're getting into hunting with Ry...

Re: Noteworthy Biggame Houndsmen
Personally, I'd like to read about hunts and happenings pertaining to hunts in story fashion if that makes sense. It would also be nice to hear stories from people who have hunted with great houndsmen who are not with us anymore. Sometimes the best stories are told by the eyes watching.

Re: Fern Creek Tree Hound Field Trial( Updated 2011 dates)
OK, Thursday at noon there will be a work day/freeze brand for the local guys and anyone who shows up early. Other than that, the branding will be Saturday evening AFTER the field trial.

Re: What does everyone do when we cant hunt...
Aside from filling in all the holes that my bored dogs dig, I like to ride my bike, race, scout for deer and elk, fish, and fix everything I broke over the winter hunting seasons. lol

Re: looking for jerky brines
I never measure anything and just add to taste but I use a lot of soy sauce, a good amount of worchestire sauce, a lot of apple juice or grape juice, beer, soda, whatever you have on hand. A touch of liquid smoke, a touch of garlic powder and as much course ground black pepper as you see fit. Its an...

Re: just a dream
You know, I think people would watch it. After all, how many people fish crab or log and people watch the heck out of those shows. You'd just need 6-10 hunters or small groups that would hunt nonstop. There's a lot of "dead" time out hunting so everyone would have to stay in the woods and ...

Re: want ur opinions
Personally, I wouldn't like it. I prefer a dog that I can read throughout the trail. I want to know if the tracks gettin better or if the dog is struggling. I also want a dog that will bark enough on a cold track to keep my pups interested until they'll do it themselves.

Re: humidity
Shorty, did he elaborate as to why he thought the track was easier to run with high pressure conditions?? It makes sense. I guess it would seem that the pressure would help hold the track where it was. Very interesting topic and I'd like to hear what others' experiences are with different BP and RH.

Re: humidity
I'd guess that barometric pressure would play a large part as well. Humidity "should" help the track but I would think the barometric pressure would dictate whether or not the track holds tight to where it was laid or drifts around. I'd guess that low pressure would allow the track to spre...
