Re: hog bay events in california?
I'd also be interested in any current info on these, if any are still about.

Re: Coonhounds dont always turn out?
I believe Bryce said it best. To have a top dog both good genetics and good training have to be present, you can have one without the other, and it won't ever amount to much.

Re: Shipping semen
I'm sure it would be a lot tougher to do internationally, my need to go frozen semen. But from everything I have read and been told by the biggest Reproduction Center here is with extender the semen can live 10-14 days. But the minimum is 72 hours. I definitely wouldn't try it in the summer months, ...

Re: Shipping semen
Who said it doesn't last? I sent it on a Thursday morning, it was supposed to be overnight. UPS did not deliver it until Saturday afternoon. They checked the sample and the motility was excellent and they AI'd her and she had 6 pups. This was also in the summer time when it was warm out, I worried i...

Re: Shipping semen
I did it once. I bought a packaged deal from ICSB ( http://www.ik9sb.com/Puppy_Pak.asp ) Followed all the instructions. I shipped it overnight thru UPS from North Central CA to Northern OR. He had a Vet do the AI (which you could probably do yourself if you order the supplies and read up) Ended up w...

Re: 2015 NOR-CAL TREEDOG UKC EVENTS & RESULTS
I got quite the surprise from UKC today. I received our April Events packet and our April Show and Hunt are an RQE/Qualifying Slam. I didn't ask for an RQE this year, but looks like they automatically renew them every year... So get them dogs in shape, and hopefully we will get a few entries and som...

Re: Rattlesnake Vaccine ?
I still get a discount thru the Vet I worked for, I still go in a work a few days a month. I get them for $10 a shot. They are typically around $30.

Re: Night Hunts in WA
Master of Hounds or Hunt Director have to be at the grounds until all casts return (or until deadline at least). I don't understand why there wasn't a score card. How do you have a hunt without a card? If you know the rules, you'd know that. If you forgot it in the truck or lost it, you are to use a...

Re: Night Hunts in WA
Also I am not saying anyone is in the right or wrong. I am not taking sides here. I am a Master of Hounds, and just from what little I am reading, it sounds like maybe someone didn't understand the rules... If his dog got frist strike at 100, and then was called treed for 125, then was moving around...

Re: Night Hunts in WA
You cannot plus a coon you cannot see. You have to go catch your dog off the coon (or hole, or pipe, or whatever) where they are "interacting" with the coon to be plus. You cannot be on the other side of the river, listening to the dog bay a coon in the briars, squalling or not, and conisd...

Re: Rattlesnake Vaccine ?
I vaccinate all my dogs. Have for a few years now. Never had one bitten. I worked at an Animal Hospital where we seen an upwards of 50 snake bites or so a season, which is also the area I live and hunt. I'd say the vaccine helps a lot for a majority of the dogs. None needed antivenon. Some really ne...
