Re: 2015 NOR-CAL TREEDOG UKC EVENTS & RESULTS

Our March event is next weekend. Should be sunny and warm. Should have enough daylight to get all the daytime events done by dark this time round  Thank goodness for daylight savings. I forgot to post winners for Feb event. It was a HUGE turnout, and went pretty smoothly. FEBRUARY 21, 2015 - U...

Re: Night Hunts in WA

This is a shame. In my experiance Nite Hunts are always fun, light hearted. Down here in Cali, we don't have this drama. When a person takes it so serious,to the point they will cheat to win, or feel cheated they didn't win, then this is not the sport for you. It reflects badly on us that do it righ...

Re: Can you teach a dog to honor another dog

Though I am not a cat hunter, I have Registered Walkers, and over the years have had my fair share of independent dogs. I like independent dogs. I want every dog in my truck to catch game, from truck to tie-up. The lines I have now fill that bill. That said I hunt my dogs in a pack, and if a dog is ...

Re: Funny/Strange Trees

David, my vote is ring-tailed cat. They are quite odd looking and have little tiny eyes. I know this because I have an old hound that believes she is a catdog, of the ring-tailed variety.

Re: Rigging tracks

I think it is experiance and to some extent drive, and a little training. I have cold nosed dogs that over the years have learned to pass by older tracks on the rig cause I never let them fool with them. I hae some that have learned to strike older tracks. My best rig dog will not stick her head out...

Re: 2 18 month old black n tan scared of coon

I agree, I have seen some mighty fine dogs that wouldn't bark at a caged animal for anything. I never show my pups or dogs caged animals and drags, ect. I turn them loose and let them train themselves with what god gave them instinctually.

Re: In your pack of dogs ?

Every dog I have, from truck to tree/catch better be able to do it solo, and they can all cold trail snd fly a track out. That said I usually turn whichever strike dogs I have on the box loose first, once they open on the ground, I dump the entire box. I rotate which dogs I use to strike and start, ...

Re: Telemetry comparison

Comparing a Johnson to a Marshall collar is a joke. Johnson isn't even a flea on a dogs ass compared to a Marshall. I'd say about once a month or so I'd have to change a couple batteries, and that is hunting for hours on end, days upon days. Even with the lights on. I could see where having a 16,000...

Re: Wild Clover Bred Walker Stud in Northern California

There's deffinately some Gamble coming thru even in his grandpups. Great feet, thick coat, and the best temperment you will find. 6 week old male pup off Frosty X Shasta. DSCN8840.JPG Gamble's son Frosty. He looks and sounds like a hound, and is a tough, loud, track driving, game catching fool. rece...

Re: Pack of all females.

I just hate dealing with mixed sexes. My main goal is to have everyone kenneled together and to never have to put a dog up because someone is in heat. I am down to two males, and they are more than enough. They are damn good for males. I don't deal with cocky, growly, pissy, humpy type dogs. But I t...
