We have 8 in the yard. I like to run around 2-4 on bear and 1 or 2 on coon. But usually it's dump the tailgate, cause we all know it's no fun stting it out! 2 - are over the hill, and are around just for retirement basically. 1 - thats coming into his prime and needs no help catching a bear or a coo...

Bears with mange or rubbing?

This year, I've noticed quite a few mangey looking bears. I've seen two dead bears so far, coming out of two different areas, and thier face around thier eyes and muzzle are all but bald. Last year, never seen one that didn't have an absolutely perfect plush coat all year long. Could it be mange? Or...

Shes 20 months old. She's origionally from PA. We got her from Charley, as she comes in heat during bear season, and he has 4 others that do too, so he sold her and kept her brother Amos. She's mostly all Sackett bred, and I think some Lipper, if you couldn't tell by looking. But if you ask Charley ...

Got another one...

I should just change my name to "Walker Addict"... She's not bred like I would like, but if ya don't go by papers, and what she does out in the woods, I think we'll be doing fine. She's looks and sounds like a male dog too. Hoping she was a good investment and worth what we spent  M...

Cool, I'll be sure to be too sick to work those days, ahead of time LOL. Just so long as Melanie comes down! If not, IDK if I can risk asking for those days off.

Loss, Sadness, and Moving On.

Words can't express how I feel today, or even where to start. We lost Butch, our lead dog this morning. He died a warriors death, and we were with him his last seconds. We weren't ready for it, but he honestley died doing what he loved. I'm still shaken and don't have the stomach to attempt to descr...

I think a lot of people will tell you there's a ligitamate reason, but I mostly think it's in there head. I have family that will argue with me they won't own a pink footed dog. They tear, crack, bruise, ect so much worse than another black footed dog. The reason I feel that it's mostly a head game,...

Well, Buster made the whole race on bear #4 this weekend. I knew it wouldn't take long!

Split race from the get go, the only dogs under a bear was Butch and Buster.

I worked and took all my dogs with me. So of course no pictures, and most of them had to sit it out with me!

Bear #2 and the 10 month old pups.

Well, I was at work yesterday, unfortunately, but Craig hit the woods bright and early. He took all 6 dogs; the three older dogs, Butch, Crash and Tinker, and the three 10 month old littermates Aspen, Buster and Sassy. Well, I guess they got an older strike from Butch, and let them down to figure it...

It was just a thought! We might just have to run a few bear then :) I guess one of us could enter for a coon that way if we can't catch a Cat we might get lucky and run over a coon on the way there! LMAO! See at least you have a 1-3 chance at a cat. If any dog in our truck makes a noise, it's a 1-1 ...

You can make that trip down here and hunt with us like you said you would! Bear season will still be going, and our Cat season opens in October. Come out here and catch a few cats and show us how it's done, and we can run a few bears, have two seperate packs going at once. I know a spot we seen a Ca...

As far as hunting goes, I like my Walker dogs, but Craig likes ticked dogs, so we have one of each of those as well. But even he agrees that its about damn near impossibe to find anything better than a good Walker - or at least we haven't seen it yet. But they have their culls like the rest. I reall...

The only problem is, is that this dog himself wasn't hunted too much. When he did, they said he was as good as any, but was owned by an Older Relitive, that quit hunting. So for the last 8 years stood on a chian in the back yard. No one even really remembers what he was like.... I never got to see h...

Looking for dogs going back to 'PR' GREEN KILLER

We had a line of top dogs all coming off a son of his. One of the best dogs around, who came from Oregon that was out of this dog named Green Killer. Wanting to see if anyone's heard of this dog, or by chance had a dog that has this dog in it's pedigree. There is one grandson (with him in the 4th) t...
