Has anyone had a definitive moment when there pup went to full boar nothing else matters cat catching machine? I have and it happened in the blink of a eye. Wondering if it always happens like hitting a switch?

What does everyone do for worming? Dry here I worm once a year and nothing for heartworm healthy dogs and no problems yet.

Thanks the original reasoning behind building a strike hood was my pup last year started striking on gut piles @4 months from the back of a SUV with the windows down. Though she had to empty out. Thanks a lot! I usually just use pursuit season to road but That's not very productive around here. I know my pup comes from a long line of bear strike dogs.

Anyone train a strike dog with scent? Think I'm missing out just hunting the snow. Put together a strike hood and was thinking about trying this. I have one good hot nosed dog and a year old pup that seems more cold.

I can't use the quarter windows. Thinking a strike hood or a dog box mounted on the hitch? Would it be better on the hood or down lower ? I could mount a rack on the front hitch low to the ground to.

Watching old videos and looking at pictures of my dogs when they were pups gets me all choked up. Only 2 seasons under my belt but man am I proud. I have a bluetick she'll run deer with I real high piched chop then whine. I can always tell when it's a deer. Maybe 300 tops and she'll turn back like just running them out of her area then she's back to hunting.

Last 2 years I've had some iron man street tire that came on my hunting rig it's due for some new rubber. Anyone have experience with bfg km2s? Or irock nd radial super swampers? Lots of snow pavement and sharp lava rock here in central oregon.

My pit/heeler mix has been hunting with hounds 2 seasons some high picthed yipes on the cold trails. It goes to full cry once it's jumped to the tree. Seems to me dogs with strengths and weaknesses can learn of each other. The things that might be about impossible to teach them yourself.

I've been told to that bigger dogs are slower or not good on a lot of rock to but my year old highlonesome pup can keep up with my smaller blue on more open ground will out run her. On real thick stuff the smaller dog is faster. I hunt high cascades to the desert. Makes sence to me different players...
