Re: Babbly young dog question
Thanks for the input. I have raised this pup from birth. She has been around my pack since then. She barks like this even while roading behind the four wheeler. Yesterday she fell out of a race and she started back tracking towards where I turned her in. I go to that spot to wait for her and she is ...

Babbly young dog question
I have a young female that is just over a year old, she is doing very well and making races. Her biggest downfall is as soon as you let her out of the box into a race she is barking with every breath. I hate a dog that barks out of place and really prefer dogs that don't bark till they get to the ot...

Re: Springtime Idaho bear hunt help
10 and 12 are roadless units. Wouldn't recommend turning dogs loose in those units. Better off putting in for non resident hound permit so you can hunt other units.

Re: Boots
Have you looked into sending the kenetrek's back and having them rebuilt? I'm on my first pair but I'm very happy with them. I believe they will put new soles and rand on for $150

Re: Technology
Garmin has saved lots of dogs for those of us that live and hunt in wolf country. It allows us to stay closer to the dogs and get to the tree quicker. If it weren't for gps there would be lots more dogs killed by the wolves.

Re: PRICING A HOUND ?
I agree with both of the above, another thing I look at is how a dog handles. By that I mean how they are in the kennel and how they handle in the woods. I have been around some dogs that could flat put game in a tree, but I wouldn't own them because of how they handled.

I didn't recommend Idaho because they only issue like 60 non resident hound hunter permits a year.
