Re: Dog adjusting to new owner
From my experience some dogs do need time to bond and get comfortable with a new owner and environment and some dogs don't. Pet him up a little when you feed so you can start to build a little bond with him and the more he runs with your other dogs the better. After doing those things you should kno...

Re: Getting dogs to come out of the bush
I tone train mine by first taking them out to the fields and let them run, then when they get a 100-200 yards away or so, I tone them as I call them so they associate the tone to coming back to me. Then when they come to me I pet them up or sometimes give them a treat if I have any. I do this a few ...

Re: Ted Nugent on California Game Management
Another thing worth noting about Ted is he has stated for years that he never played with drugs or alchohol. Thats pretty amazing to me considering the times and business he was in. He claimed that women were his weakness lmao. Great point Mark, how is that even possible being in RocknRoll in the 6...

Re: Given up on Facebook
I agree with most of what has been said, and like Chris I have been up over a 1000 friends but I realized that I didn't even really know most of them so I deleted anyone I hadn't actually talked to whether it be in person, phone, or message. I have made good friends through FB and the internet in ge...

Re: !!! The Ultimate Bobcat Dog...Part 1.5 !!!
Am I the only one who thinks it would be way more of a challenge to develop a line of awesome bobcat dogs using only one type of registered "pure bread" dogs? I feel like one is really handicapping them self by looking for traits in such a small group of genetics. You think what Dans doin...

Re: Stubborn pup
Great analogy Mike in regards to the pain addiction we both know a hound with that issue! Another way to deal with these stubborn hard running pups is set them up with positive reinforcement. Whether it be trainers or a Hot track. One technique I have found useful is send that pup down one with a g...

Re: New to the game advice
Do your best to find someone local to you that is doing it the way you want to. They could be your first lead on where to get a dog from.
Also I would save up and get as close to a finished dog as you can afford and then you will be able to use that to train your other dogs in the future. Good luck.
