HSUS Book Ban

Postby Peter Meyer » Fri May 07, 2010 9:29 pm

I've heard rumors the HSUS is going to issue a press release urging all of America's school districts to quit using "Where the Red Fern Grows" in their English curriculum. They claim this classic piece of American literature promotes the evils of hound hunting to America's youth and should be banned.
"We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence
on those who would do us harm." -George Orwell
Bar K Black and Tans Placerville CA
"We must indeed all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately" -Benjamin Franklin replying to John Hancock's remark that the revolutionaries should be unanimous in their action. July 4, 1776 at the signing of the Declaration of Independence

That is ridiculous! that book is a timeless American classic, and is what sparked the fire for me. Is there anywhere or anyone who I could contact to defend the book?

That is rediculous!! I had to read that book in the 4th grade and it is still my favorite.
