Not on the internet. Things can easily change once dogs hit the woods.

That is one of the most retarded things i have heard all dogs are diff. But that accusation is probably based on someones opinion from previous experiences. I have seen fast and slow in all breeds.

Now Cole, do you think that I would have spent good money on my B&T pup when I could have gotten a "bluetick" for free if that was true?

If I were going to pick a breed they couldn't keep up with it would not be blueticks. I've hunted with men who had all walkers and currently hunt with men who have all plotts and my dog are not getting outran. Mine can outrun most of the bears the've seen so that is fast enough for me.

Very true Ole Guy but a Walker doesn't WANT to keep up to a bear. :P

Am I the only one that thinks speed is a little over rated, and may be the down fall of pleasure hounds if we are not careful?

I like everyone else don't want a hound pottering all over the woods, but a hound without the patience to gear down enough to keep contact with the track isnt worth much.

You can have your fast, deep, leave the country speed demons, and Ill take the hound that hunts with me and jumps what I put them on!!
