Dog Food for your Blueticks

Just wanted to know what food a lot of people use and how well it is working. I have used Canidae, Eukanuba, currently Nutri Source and some Evangers. The dogs have responded well. Nice coats, very healthy. So far I have liked the Nutri Source the best. Been using that for over a year. I have a few that do not care for it as much. I tried some lower quality brands but it went thought the dogs faster and I had to feed them more to keep the weight on. Anyone feeding raw food only? I found that to be a nice option but on the expensive side.

i know there are many that DO feed raw meat .I prefer NOT to .Now having said that I do occasionally give them a bone with some meat left on it they actually prefer the Ham Bones . The wife takes the time to pull meat off a roasted chicken ,leg of lamb, smoked shoulder puts it in a container ,takes it out to the fridge/ freezer in my shop and I mix it with the regular dog food . Stopped eating bear meat a few years ago ,but when my son or I take one we cut up the carcus and I will throw the pieces in a Crock Pot and mix that with their regular doog food once every other week . VET claims it is NOT a PROBLEM . I would rather see the hounds get it than throw it in the garbage . What we don't feed them ends up in the coyote bait bucket

I have heard that some people find that when they feed meat from the game they hunt with there dogs it helps them to become better hunters for that particular game. I only know of one person that does this and her dogs do well.

I feed Super Puppy Iams to my pups & Diamond Hi Energy to my Adult dogs.

I've been feeding Diamond Extreme Athlete. So far so good. They eat it good, keeps the weight on and their energy level is really high. If anyone else has had good or bad experiences with this please let me know.

Sage & Outlaw i feed Extreem Athlete to my Redbone-Bluetick & Walker is the first food that put weight on my Bluetick i feed less they gain weight and have less waste to clean up....i dont see me feeding anything else

i used to buy high priced dog food now somethin cheap chichen is so cheap i give them a few meals of that a week and its cheaper than high priced dog food and some bacon greese
i gave pitbull pups deer meal and let them chew on the carcass well sold one to a guy who has lots of deer in his area surburban town lazy stupid deer well that dog was found twice eatin a deer he tackled wife said he had to bring him back well i told him how silly she is and he should pay me extra for him etc hmm well see if he like hogs the same
i thought only uncooked meat bones sounds like some of you are feedin cooked bones dont they splinter

only bones I know of that splinter bad is FRIED chicken bones..
cooked in a roaster does not seem to cause any problems.

on deer bones, when I clean a deer, I take my reciprocating saw and cut the back bone in smaller chunks and then they will clean them up!

I put a couple of coons in a cheap roaster and cook that until the meat slips on the bone-- they get it all --sure will slick up a hound.

You guys feeding tha Diamond Extreme is that not pretty high protein [32%] won't that burn their kidneys up over a long period of time. I though you should use 25 or 26 %.
but what do I know.but I have raised some pretty plotts puppys on nothing but raw eggs.

Contrary to what was commonly thought, some recent studies have said that older dogs need MORE protein, not less.On the meat thing- I have given the dogs a little raw beef at night and they seemed to have a little more spark when I hunt them the next morning. I'm going to start checking their mileage on the Garmin.

I feed my dog Black gold dog food. it stayes with him and he seems to like it!
