Re: Oscar Thomas
Oscar lives at Stewartson,Ill.
He has stuck with the purest of the old Vaughn stock and currently has a hound he calls Jughead. he is plumb chuck full of Oscar's breeding going back many years. he is rather careful of what he will breed to and has maintained that type of hunting hound.

Re: Oscar Thomas
Like driftwood said, Oscar has probably the purest Vaughn breeding available these days. A friend of mine bought a nice little female from him a few years back. The amount of Vaughn blood was was unbelievable in that dog, The Vaughn name was in the seven generation pedigree over a hundred times, and a lot of it was as close as the fourth generation. Even some of the old 60's and early 70's hounds like Jack and the first Mack and Buck dogs where in there, and of course bucks II and II and Macks II and III and Roger's Little Mack and on down the line. There is no dought that he has put a tremendous amount of effort into keeping those old lines alive.
So props to Oscar Thomas, my hat is off to him. The pup my friend got was a decent dog but it was a little ill towards his other dogs, so he culled it. But I never knock an entire bloodline based on one pup, there are duds in every bloodline. Even if that dog wasn't the greatest I still don't dought that Oscar has one of the better lines going these days. If I was in the market for a pup I would definately look him up before Del Cameron
Hope this info helps
