Re: Elbert Vaughn
No he has been gone too long but plenty have Elbert Vaughn's progeny. He was one of the founders of the breed.
Say has anybody out there got any original Clearwayer Blueticks?

Re: Elbert Vaughn
Oscar Thomas of Illinois has about the purest of any of the straight up Vaughn stock... His Jughead hound does not have any junk bloodlines mixed in..Oscar has made a point to keep his hounds tight Vaughn stock..
get a BBCHA yearbook and his address is in there.

my girl friend has to vaughns breed blueticks. they come from Oscar.
Re: Elbert Vaughn
What are the size and height approx. of Oscar's dogs?
Re: Elbert Vaughn
They are breed standard/old school hound dogs. My female was about 23in tall and about 55lbs at hunting wt. My male is 26-27in tall and 74lbs of solid muscle. He still has his old "Jug Head" stud dog, he's houndy and he is a coon dog. My dogs hunt both lions and coons

Chad, good to see you are still running around. When you heading over to Dixie next?
Re: Elbert Vaughn
I would sure love to see some pictures if you want to post some.
Re: Elbert Vaughn
Here's some pics that I have of my Early dog and his momma and daddy. I will be breeding my old Vaughn bred female to Early when she comes into heat again but I didn't have any good pics of her. She's a stay put tree dog to the fullest, comes from some of Oscars old stock. Early is one year old, (almost to the day) when he's treed on that lion. I've yet to have him leave a tree on a coon or a lion. He was treed for 18min by himself on a tripple split tree at his first comp hunt at 7mos old!
Here's my boy's momma Bonnet, That is Oscar Thomas in the picture with her.
Here's my boy's daddy, Doc, he's dead now, Mike Fleek owner handler
My Early boy treed on a lion
Me, Early and my daughter Caidyn
The lion he had treed

Great pics. Beautiful dogs. Thanks.
Re: Elbert Vaughn
I live 15 min from Oscar. I have a dog down from his stuff.
Oscar is sure fun to talk dogs with!!
If I was going after a Vaughn bred dog I would travel 15 minutes West rather than 15 minutes East...
BTW there is a feller down south with a littermate to your Early dog. Dog is supposed to be a good coon dog.
