Bluetick standards AKC and UKC

I have a bluetick female that is six months old and is a great looking pup and an early starter. She meets the standard in every way except her bite. She is young and we are hoping that it comes back to the preferd bite she had when she was younger. She is just a hair undershot and I was wondering if any amount is still a DQ in a bench show, or is there any acceptable amount. She is out of Cameron and Utchman lines and both parents had a good bite. I know it will not keep us from competition hunting her but we would love to do bench shows also. I have heard that if she is DQ'd twice she will loose her rights to have litters registered with AKC and that would be really bad. All of her littermates have a correct bite, and I dont feel that one wrong bite in the recent blood lines is a reason to not breed her down the road. Just looking for some info and some input. Hope there are some bench show fans that can help me out.

So long as the teeth are touching tightly it should be acceptable.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's not going to correct. The bottom jaw always grows more. If it was an overbite, those usually get better with age. Underbites always get worse.

The way I look at it as long as it's not VISABLY affecting the dog, they don't run and catch game with there teeth... Maybe not show quality, but as far as hunting and breeding there isn't an issue.

Nothing worse than to see a judge put up a terrible quality dog because the overall better dog has a bad bite.

It has been about a month since I checked her bite and to my suprise it is comming back. Front teeth are now touching and the K9's are overlaping. Registered for a show outside of Portland to see what happens.
